Hornet Women's Lax Score 13-9 win at Marymount
ARLINGTON, VA – The Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team rattled off seven-straight second half goals to post a 13-9 victory Saturday in non-conference action against Marymount University.
The Hornets took a 4-1 lead in the early-going with scores from four different players. The Saints posted three of the last four goals of the first half to cut the lead to 5-4 at intermission.
After an early LC second-half goal, Marymount found the back of the net twice to tie the game at six at the 21:21 mark of the second half. The Hornets scored the next seven goals over a 10-minute span, with Katherine Francis netting three and Caroline Carozza posting two. Marymount scored three late goals but could not get within striking range.
Carozza finished with three goals and two assists while Francis had three tallies and one assist. Katie Seidel and Dorrie Macgregor had two goals apiece and Lindsay Parker had a goal and an assist. Alexa Carey and Ryland Scott also scored for LC. Hailey Bossert made nine stops in net for the Hornets and Francis snared eight draw controls and Macgregor had four.
Abby Wescott had three goals and two assists for Marymount (0-2), and Taylor Johnson also had a hat trick.
Lynchburg (1-1) hosts Widener Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. in non-conference play.
