Ferrum Defeats Hornet Men's Tennis 7-2

FERRUM, VA – The Ferrum College men's tennis team defeated Lynchburg College 7-2 Sunday in a non-conference play. The match was restarted from last Friday, when inclement weather forced the contest to be postponed and rescheduled.

Ferrum won the three doubles matches while LC captured two of the singles matches.

Freshman Bryce Barber earned a hard-fought victory at #2 singles, 7-6 (7-1), 1-6, 1-0 (10-6) and junior Andrew Link won 6-1, 6-3 at #4.

Barber and Dom Gutierrez (#1 doubles) and Josh Johnson and Link (#2 doubles) each won four games before falling to their Panther opponents.

LC (0-2) travels across town to Randolph College Saturday for the final match of the fall season at 3 p.m.
