Harrisonburg, Va. -- Lynchburg Field Hockey (11-6, 8-0) continued its winning ways Saturday afternoon as they defeated Old Dominion Athletic Conference opponent Eastern Mennonite (7-10, 2-6), 4-1 in the last regular season game of the season. Sophomore Isabella Eldridge notched two goals for the Hornets to preserve the undefeated regular season ODAC record.

The game was a defensive battle in the first half before Eldridge netted a goal at the 20 minute mark with the assist coming from sophomore Nikki Simpao to give Lynchburg a 1-0 lead. Eastern Mennonite would strike back with just 12 seconds left in the half when Lorraine Armstrong knocked in a rebound to square up the score.

The Hornets waited just 10 minutes before Eldridge scored her second goal of the game to put Lynchburg back up by a goal. Kayla Copeman got in on the scoring when she tipped in a Simpao shot, the assist was Simpao's second of the day during the 52nd minute. The scoring was not over for the Hornets as Kaila Hind tapped in her second goal of the season in the last minute of the contest to secure a Hornet victory and extend the winning streak to six games.

Senior goalkeeper Beka Hess made 13 saves in the contest while facing 12 Royals penalty corners.

The ODAC Tournament for the Hornets will begin this Friday as the Hornets will receive a first round bye and home field advantage throughout the tournament. The game time will be announced after the quarterfinal round that is slated for Tuesday night and the opponent will be the lowest seed remaining after the quarterfinal matches.
