Hornet Men's Tennis Opens Spring Season against So. Virginia
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's tennis team opened its 2016 spring season Tuesday afternoon on the LC Courts, but dropped a hard-fought 6-3 non-conference match to Southern Virginia University.
Jordan Falinski won both of his matches Tuesday, scoring a 6-3, 6-3 win at #6 singles and teaming with Nick Savino for an 8-4 victory at #3 doubles. Andrew Link posted a commanding 6-0, 6-1 win at #4 singles.
Savino fell just short at #5 singles, dropping his match 2-6, 6-3 (10-6). The Hornet #1 doubles team of Link and Josh Johnson captured four games and the #2 duo of Bryce Barber and Dom Gutierrez won five games.
Lynchburg (0-4) hosts Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foes Washington & Lee University Wednesday at 11 a.m. and Hampden-Sydney College Thursday at 3 p.m.
