Buena Vista, Va. -- The Lynchburg College men's tennis team fell back to .500 on the young season with an 8-1 loss over the mountain at Southern Virginia Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore Juan Borga (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA) won the lone match for the Hornets, a 2-6, 6-1 (12) come-from-behind victory over the Knights' Paul Monson at No. 1 singles.
Freshman Luke Sablik (Vienna, Va.) won a set at No. 3 singles but eventually fell 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 to SVU's Thomas John Snelson.
The Knights swept the doubles portion of the dual match.
Lynchburg's men (2-2) will look to get back on the winning track Saturday, Feb. 24 with a trip to Guilford that will open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play. The Hornet women (1-1) travel to SVU on Thursday. First serve is at 3 p.m.
