Men's tennis drops ODAC opener at Guilford

Greensboro, N.C. -- Lynchburg College's men's tennis team fell 7-2 to Guilford on the road Saturday in both teams' Old Dominion Athletic Conference opener.

Sophomore Juan Borga (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA) and freshman Luke Sablik (Vienna, Va.) earned the Hornets' points with singles wins.

Borga took down GC's Tate Godwin, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1, while Sablik fought back for a 3-6, 6-4 (10-5) win at No. 3 over Graham Pearson.

Senior Colton Mullins (Appomattox, Va.) nearly took another match at No. 6 singles, eventually falling to the Quakers' Kai Glass, 4-6, 6-4 (15-13) in a wild tiebreaker.

The Quakers swept the doubles slate.

Lynchburg (2-3, 0-1 ODAC) will return to action over spring break at Hilton Head Island, S.C. in the Spring Tennis Fest, starting with a match Sunday, March 4 against NAIA member Milligan on Sunday, March 4.
