Men's tennis blows past Randolph in crosstown action

Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg College men's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 victory over crosstown rival Randolph Wednesday afternoon for its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference triumph of 2018.

Sophomore Juan Borga (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA) led the way with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Bradley Strober at No. 1, and the Hornets' ace teamed up with senior Colton Mullins (Appomattox, Va.) for an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Mullins also won in dominating fashion at No. 5 singles, not dropping a game. Senior Will Nsoesie (Boonsboro, Md.) and sophomore Zack Shane (Falls Church, Va.) also won 6-0, 6-0 at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively. Freshman Luke Sablik (Vienna, Va.) took a 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 2 singles.

The Hornets' final two points came on forfeits at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.

Lynchburg will return to ODAC play next Wednesday against another nearby rival, Hampden-Sydney, at 3 p.m. at the LC Tennis Courts.
