Men's tennis cruises by Shenandoah

Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg College men's tennis team earned its second-straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference win Saturday at home, an 8-1 rout of visiting Shenandoah.

Sophomore Juan Borga (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA) held steady at No. 1 singles, cruising to a 6-2, 6-2 victory over SU's Matt Hwang, and junior Nick Savino (Bristol, Conn.) was dominant at No. 6, winning 6-0, 6-1. Senior Will Nsoesie (Boonsboro, Md.), freshman Luke Sablik (Vienna, Va.), and senior Colton Mullins (Appomattox, Va.) all earned straight-set singles wins as well, at Nos. 2, 3, and 5, respectively.

Sophomore Zack Shane (Falls Church, Va.) gritted out a win at No. 4. After falling 6-1 in the first set, Shane rebounded for a 6-0 win in the second and won the tiebreaker, 10-4.

The only match the hosts dropped was the contest at No. 1 doubles.

Lynchburg (7-9, 3-5 ODAC) will look for a third-straight ODAC win Sunday, April 22 when they play host to the Wasps of Emory & Henry, beginning at noon on the LC Tennis Courts.
