Salem, Va. -- Junior hurdler LaMaya Lacy broke a 20 year old Lynchburg program record in the 60m hurdles as the University of Lynchburg track & field team competed in the Roanoke Invitational Challenge Saturday afternoon.
The Bremo Bluff, Va. native finished third overall as she ran a record-breaking 9.10 in the women's 60m hurdles. She broke the old record of 9.23 that was set back in 2000. Lacy now holds the top time on the all time top-10 in program history.
On the men's side of action, sophomore Alex Shadkhoo ran a new personal record of 22.22 in the 200m dash and placed second overall. The sophomore bested his previous PR and gave him the second fastest 200m time in school history and put him second in the nation for the 200m dash.
Shadkhoo also ran 7.08 in the men's 60m, taking home first place and freshman Isaiah Brothers took home a second place finish after jumping 5'10" in the men's high jump.
On the women's side, Lacy jumped 35'10" in the women's triple jump, giving her a fourth place finish and the fourth best mark on the program all-time top-10 list. Sophomore Zoe Scales finished just behind Lacy, jumping 35'7.25', giving her a fifth overall finish and the fifth best mark in program history.
In the women's pole vault, sophomore Lauren Anderson finished third overall after vaulting 10'11.75", placing her fifth on the all-time top-10 list.

The University of Lynchburg track & field team will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 7 and Feb. 8 as the Hornets travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to compete in the Camel City Invitational.
