Raleigh, N.C. -- University of Lynchburg's men's tennis team continued its strong start to the 2020 campaign with a decisive 8-1 victory at William Peace on Friday.
The Hornets (2-0) started off strong, sweeping through doubles play, and the bottom two flights cinched the win in short fashion as No. 5 man Carter McCleary and No. 6 player Shawn Ikegami each carried 6-0, 6-0 wins.
Daniel Christian was victorious, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 2, and No. 3 man Vincent Oliver won easily, 6-2, 6-1. Cooper Brewen added the Hornets' final point at No. 4 with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph.
Lynchburg's men will take the weekend off before heading to St. Mary's (Md.) Tuesday, March 3 for another out-of-conference match.
