Winchester, Va. -- Junior LaMaya Lacy tied her own record once again as University of Lynchburg's indoor track & field teams competed at the Shendandoah Last Chance Qualifier meet on Saturday afternoon to get prepared for the indoor national meet on March 13 and 14.
Lacy yet again tied her own school record in the women's 60-meter hurdles as the Bremo Bluff native took home first place running 8.90 seconds.
Senior Keaira Reese and sophomore Donzailya Berg each jumped 16'6.5" in the women's long jump, capturing third and fourth, respectively. Junior Destaunia Perry finished first in the women's triple jump as she jumped 34' 6.5".
On the men's side, freshman Malik Harvey ran his way into the record books as he recorded a new collegiate best of 8.54 seconds in the men's 60m hurdles, landing him ninth on the all-time top-10 list. Julian Douglas finished third in the long jump as the junior jumped 23'2".
Lynchburg track & field will be back in action on March 13 and 14 as indoor season continues with the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship meet at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Hornets' outdoor season kicks off the same weekend as the team travels to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to compete at the Coastal Carolina Invitational.
