Men's soccer falls at Liberty

Box Score

Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's men's soccer team fell to NCAA Division I Liberty University, 3-0, Wednesday night on the road.

The Hornets fell behind 1-0 early after Liberty's Michael Huss found the back of the Lynchburg net on an assist from Luke Eberle. The Flames went on to score two more goals in the first half to take a 3-0 lead into intermission.

The Hornets' defense kept Liberty off the board in the second half as the Hornets kept the Flames to only three shots after they took 12 in the opening half. Senior Kyle Gallagher had four saves on the night and junior Justin Ennis recorded one save in his only opportunity in the contest.

Sophomore Luke Mega took three of Lynchburg's six shots with all three of them on frame, but was unable to get any past the Liberty goalkeeper.

Lynchburg (2-1-1) will be back on the pitch on Sunday, March 14 at 4 p.m., as the Hornets travel to Guilford College to take on the Quakers in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup.
