Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's men's tennis team swept doubles play and held on through singles en route to a 6-3 win over crosstown rival Randolph in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Daniel Christian and Carter McCleary earned an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles to set the tone for the Hornets (2-0, 2-0 ODAC), and Colton Mullins and Vincent Oliver followed with a hard-fought 8-6 win at the second flight. Randolph did not field a No. 3 flight team, so Lynchburg headed into singles play ahead, 3-0.
In singles, it was the bottom of the lineup that got the job done for Lynchburg. Cooper Brewen handled business at No. 4, winning 6-0, 6-1, and Oliver took an 8-0 decision at No. 5 after the match had been sealed.
Lynchburg's men's tennis team will take a hiatus from conference play next time out, playing host to Mary Baldwin on Tuesday, March 16 at 2 p.m.
