Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg women's soccer continued its dominance over the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with an 8-0 win against Eastern Mennonite Wednesday afternoon.
Junior Savannah Harper scored twice along with six other goal scorers as the Hornets shut out the Royals.
Sydney Dombrovskis opened the scoring for Lynchburg in the third minute on an assist from Megan Dee. Dombrovskis earned the goal after Dee collected a failed clear in the box and found her teammate for the easy finish.
Dee tallied a goal for herself seven minutes later on an assist from Maddy Myers. Dee leads the team with 16 points on the year, and Myers collected the first point of her season on the play.
Alyssa Damato, Lindsey Grady, and Harper all scored within three minutes of each other to close out the first half.
Harper quickly scored her second goal out of the break. Leilianis Irigoyen and Dee both assisted on Harper's fourth goal of the year. Ella Tampio-Iorns added to the lead on an assist from Dombrovskis in the 66th.
Lynchburg put up its eighth and final goal in the 72nd minute. Victoria Newman sent a pass towards the net that deflected off an EMU defender, and Mac Joly completed the play on the other end. Joly, the reigning ODAC player of the week, is tied with Dee for the team lead in goals.
The Hornets are undefeated in conference play through five matches and have outscored their ODAC foes 35-0 so far with five more matches on the schedule.
Lynchburg (7-2-4, 5-0 ODAC) celebrates senior day next match hosting Guilford during Homecoming. The match will commence Saturday, Oct. 15 at 4 p.m.
