Winchester, Va. -- University of Lynchburg men's tennis dropped a close match with Shenandoah on Saturday afternoon.
Andrew Freeman and Christian Kumar teamed up for the first time this season and won at the second-doubles flight. Cooper Brewen and Jackson Scott pushed Lynchburg into singles action with a 2-1 lead after winning at No. 3 doubles. Both duos won in a tiebreak.
During singles play, Levi Vigdorchik earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1. Christian Kumar also grabbed a win, 6-4, 6-0, at the fifth-singles flight.
The Hornets could not grab the decisive fifth match despite two hard fought battles at No. 2 from Andrew Freeman and at No. 3 with Cooper Brewen. Both Freeman and Brewen played into a third set.
Lynchburg (1-2, 1-2 ODAC) heads to Hilton Head, S.C. for four matches beginning with a tilt against Concordia-Wisconsin at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Mar. 13.
