Greensboro, N.C. -- University of Lynchburg men's tennis lost to Guilford 6-3 Saturday afternoon.
The Hornets began the day with the lead after taking two of three doubles matches. Levi Vigdorchik and Colton Mullins won their second-straight match at the top-doubles flight. Andrew Freeman and Carter McCleary were victorious at No. 2 for the fourth time this season.
Vigdorchik claimed a win at the first-singles flight without losing a game. He is 6-2 at No. 1 this year.
Lynchburg could not capitalize off those three points and lost out on the rest of the singles courts. Mullins lost 1-6, 3-6 at No. 2. Freeman played a pair of close sets at the third flight but lost 5-7, 3-6. McCleary, Cooper Brewen, and Christian Kumar all fell at the fourth, fifth, and sixth flights, respectively.
The Hornets (4-6, 2-3 ODAC) look to bounce back on Sunday, Apr. 3 during their first home match of the season. Lynchburg takes on Virginia Wesleyan at the Crosswhite Athletic Club at 1 p.m.
