Box Score Virginia Beach, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's tennis team saw its five-match winning streak end at the hands of Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday.
The Hornets lost for the first time since Feb. 22 with a 5-4 defeat against the Marlins.
Lynchburg held a 2-1 lead after doubles actions thanks to wins at No. 2 from Carter McCleary and Emile Paindavoine and at No. 3 from Sebastian Sierra and Alex Rintoul.
The Hornets only grabbed two victories in singles action. Levi Vogdorchik lost at No. 1. The 2022 all-conference player held an eight-match winning streak at the top flight before Sunday.
Sierra won a hard-fought match at No. 4. Both sets went to tiebreaks and he won 7-6 (8), 7-6 (5).
At the sixth court, Christian Zepeda only dropped two games in his fourth singles victory of the season.
Lynchburg (6-3, 2-1 ODAC) will travel to Washington and Lee on Thursday, March 30 at 3 p.m.
