Box Score Farmville, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's tennis team won its third-straight match Thursday.
The Hornets downed the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney 7-2.
Lynchburg took two out of three in doubles play, but all three matches were close. Emile Paindavoine and Lauren Muhlhause lost 7-8 at the second flight. Levi Vigdorchik and Alex Rintoul continued their recent success at the first flight with an 8-4 win, and Dan Hardy and Sebastian Sierra won 8-7 at No. 3.
Vigdorchik downed his opponent in singles action 6-4, 6-4 at the first flight. He won his 11th singles match of the season.
After dropping the first set at No. 2, Paindavoine battled back with a 6-3 victory in the second and won on a tiebreak third.
Christian Zepeda also won in three sets after dropping the first. He earned his victory at the sixth flight.
Muhlhause and Sierra rounded out the dominant win with victories at No. 3 and No. 5, respectively.
Lynchburg earned its 10th win of the season. The Hornets have not had double-digit victories in over 20 years.
The Hornets (10-5, 5-2) play their fourth match of the week on Saturday, April 15 at Randolph-Macon.
