Newport News, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's tennis team fell to Christopher Newport on Sunday.

The Captains swept the Hornets 9-0 in the first meeting between the two teams since 2006.

Levi Vigdorchik and Alex Rintoul played the closest match during doubles action at the top flight. The senior-freshman duo fell in a tiebreak 8-7 (4). 

Dan Hardy lost in a tiebreak during the first set then dropped the second 0-6 at the fifth-singles flight. Sebastian Sierra was the only Hornet to win a set. He won the second set 7-5 in a 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 (2) defeat at the third flight. 

The Hornets (7-5, 3-2 ODAC) take on Randolph at home on Thursday, April 6.
