Winchester, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's soccer team earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference regular season champions title after defeating Shenandoah, 2-1, on Wednesday night.
The No. 24 Hornets (10-2-4, 7-1-2) powered through the month of October undefeated. The last three games have all resulted in victories for Lynchburg. Throughout the month, the Hornets claimed seven wins and two draws. Lynchburg cracked into the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 NCAA DIII poll for the first time this season.Â
In each of the last three seasons, the Hornets have led the conference in goals allowed. This year, Lynchburg averaged .56 goals allowed per game, the best rate since 2021 when Roanoke held opponents to .56 goals per affair.

Manzi Shalita took the opportunity and capitalized, extending the Hornets' lead to two, which held into the second half.
With 5:37 left on the clock, Shenandoah inched closer with a goal from Chinedu Ikem following a corner kick. Lynchburg successfully held off the SU comeback attempt and claimed the regular season title.
The Hornets are in position to host throughout the ODAC postseason. First up is a quarterfinal matchup against Eastern Mennonite on Saturday, November 2 at 4 p.m.
