Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's tennis team fell to Shenandoah 0-9 Saturday afternoon.
Lynchburg surrendered all three doubles points. The familiar duo of Alex Rintoul and Levi Vigdorchik fought hard at No. 1 doubles, but ultimately fell 7-8 (6-8 in tiebreaker). Coach Johnson switched up his No. 2 and No. 3 doubles pairings, having Sebastian Sierra and Patricio Zepeda on court two, and Shadi Kallel and Christian Zepeda on court three. Both doubles teams fell 4-8.
In singles action, Vigdorchik fell at No. 1 singles 6-7 (3-7 in tiebreaker), 4-6. Kallel lost his match at No. 2 singles 0-6, 1-6 to the reigning ODAC men's tennis player of the week, Artem Babaiev. Sierra and Rintoul played on courts three and four, respectively. Both lost with a score of 1-6, 1-6. At No. 5 singles, Patricio Zepeda fell 2-6, 1-6. In a three set battle on court six, Christian Zepeda lost the first set 4-6, but won the second set 7-6, winning 7-5 in the tiebreaker. Unfortunately, he fell 5-10 in the deciding tiebreaker.Â
Lynchburg (8-3, 3-2 ODAC) resumes ODAC play in Salem against Roanoke on Tuesday, Apr. 16 at 1 p.m.Â
