Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's tennis team fell to Averett 1-8 Wednesday afternoon.
Lynchburg dropped all three doubles matches. Levi Vigdorchik and Alex Rintoul fell at No. 1 doubles 3-8. Patricio Zepeda and Sebastian Sierra were paired up on court two. Dan Hardy made his first appearance after a two game hiatus at the third flight alongside Shadi Kallel. Both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles dropped their matches 1-8.
In singles action, Vigdorchik picked up the only victory for the Hornets, winning both sets 6-3 on court one. At No. 2 singles, Kallel dropped the first set 5-7, and blanked the second. Hardy fell at the third flight 0-6, 2-6. Sierra lost his match at No. 4 singles 3-6, 4-6. Rintoul slid down to the fifth flight, where he fell 2-6, 1-6. Zepeda fell 1-6, 3-6, on court six.Â
Lynchburg (9-4, 4-3 ODAC) takes a week off then continues ODAC play against crosstown rivals Randolph on Wednesday, Apr. 24 at 3 p.m.
