Box Score Buena Vista, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's tennis team swept Southern Virginia 9-0 on Tuesday.
The Hornets won for the sixth time without dropping a match on any court. It began with a 3-0 sweep of doubles play led by Alex Rintoul and Levi Vigdorchik on the first court 8-4. The pairing is 7-2 on the season which marks the most doubles wins by any Lynchburg duo. The undefeated pairing of Dan Hardy and Sebastian Sierra won 8-2 at No. 2, and Patricio Zepeda and Shadi Kallel won their first No. 3 match 8-1.
In singles action, Vigdorchik won his sixth singles match 6-3, 6-3. Kallel won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2. On the third court, Sierra battled for a 6-1, 6-2 victory, and Rintoul won 6-3, 6-3 on the fourth court. Christian Zepeda was the only Hornet to persevere through a tiebreak and won 6-2, 4-6 1-0 (5) on the fifth court, and Patricio Zepeda won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.
Lynchburg (7-2, 2-1 ODAC) host Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, April 6 at 3 p.m.
