Fredericksburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg Men's Tennis team was represented by junior
Alex Rintoul and freshman Luca Morbioli in the ITA Division III Southeast Regional Championship on Friday and Saturday.
Rintoul and Morbioli both played in the championship doubles bracket, while Morbioli competed in the championship singles bracket, and Rintoul competed in the B1 singles bracket.Â
The first round of doubles action took place on Friday at 8:00 a.m. The Lynchburg duo took on Randolph's Jacob Martin and Pelda Ondra, and lost 2-6. They played against Carnegie Mellon's Theodore Gershon and Fernando Limon Saturday morning in the consolation bracket, and fell 3-6.Â
In singles action, Morbioli fell to Randolph's Martin 5-8 Friday afternoon. On Saturday, he faced Muhlenberg's Owen Dyer in the consolation bracket and won 8-5.Â
Rintoul dropped his sole singles match 1-8 to Johns Hopkins' Jason Li. He was scheduled to face Stevens' Matthew Luzzi in the consolation bracket, but withdrew due to injury.Â
This marks the end of Lynchburg's fall competition. The spring slate of matches will be announced at a later date.Â
