Baseball Releases 2026 Schedule

Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg baseball team and head coach Travis Beazley are set to open the 2026 campaign with a challenging slate that features a mix of regional showdowns, tournament showcases, and a full Old Dominion Athletic Conference schedule, the program announced Thursday.

The Hornets begin the season February 13-15 in Demorest, Georgia, competing in the Piedmont Tournament with matchups against George Fox, Rhodes, and host Piedmont across three consecutive days. Lynchburg then returns home briefly to host Pfeiffer on February 17 at James C. Fox Field before hitting the road again for the D3 Showcase in Greensboro, N.C. The three-game event features contests against Cortland and Salisbury on February 20, followed by Marietta on February 21.

Lynchburg opens its home weekend slate February 27-March 1 with a three-game series against York (Pa.) before traveling to Greensboro and Maryville for midweek matchups. The Hornets begin ODAC play on March 7, hosting Washington and Lee for a home doubleheader.

Conference action continues with doubleheaders at Eastern Mennonite (March 14) and Guilford (March 21), along with home twin bills against Roanoke on March 28 and Averett on April 11. The Hornets also host matchups with Hampden-Sydney on March 18, Greensboro on March 25, and Virginia Wesleyan on April 1.

Lynchburg's April schedule includes key road trips to Randolph-Macon, Johnson & Wales (N.C.), Hampden-Sydney, Christopher Newport, Virginia Wesleyan, and Bridgewater. The Hornets then close the regular season with a pair of home doubleheaders against Randolph-Macon (April 21) and Shenandoah (April 25), followed by home games against Christopher Newport on April 28 and Johnson & Wales (N.C.) on April 29.

Postseason play begins May 1 with the ODAC First Rounds at the site of the highest seed, leading into the ODAC Final Four at Capital One Park in Tysons, Va., scheduled for May 7. Following the conference playoffs, the NCAA tournament begins, starting on May 15 and culminating with the finals in Eastlake, Ohio from May 29 through June 4.

Last season, the Hornets produced a fantastic campaign, reaching the Super Regional round of the NCAA postseason after the squad finished the season with 41 victories, the second-most in program history and the second ocassion of more than 40 wins in a season in the last three years. At home on James C. Fox Field, the Hornets went a flawless 21-0. To cap some of the incredible achievements that group accomplished, the Hornets earned their 12th ODAC championship title and appeared in the NCAA tournament for the 14th time in program history.
