Women's Lacrosse Unveils 2026 Schedule

LYNCHBURG, Va. --  The University of Lynchburg women's lacrosse team and head coach McKenzie Rafferty have announced the program's 2026 schedule, featuring a competitive non-conference opening and a full ODAC slate as the Hornets prepare for the spring season.

Lynchburg will play 16 regular-season games, including 11 home contests on Shellenberger Field. The 2026 schedule is evenly split between eight non-conference matchups and eight ODAC games.

The Hornets open the season at home with three straight games on Shellenberger Field, hosting Methodist on Feb. 7, Chowan on Feb. 14, and St. Mary's (Md.) on Feb. 18. Lynchburg will host their Code Red matchup against St. Mary's (Md.) before hitting the road for the first time.

Conference play begins on the road on Feb. 25, as the Hornets travel to Sweet Briar for their first ODAC contest of the year. Lynchburg remains away from home for a non-conference matchup at Christopher Newport on March 7 before returning to Hill City the following day.

Lynchburg hosts Piedmont on March 8, opening the program's longest homestand of the season with five consecutive games on Shellenberger Field. The Hornets welcome Hood on March 10, followed by Rhodes on March 13, Eastern Mennonite on March 21, and Randolph-Macon on March 25. Senior Day will be celebrated during the home matchup against the EMU Royals.

ODAC play continues into late March and April with a road contest at Roanoke on March 28. Lynchburg then returns home to host Guilford on April 8 and Shenandoah on April 12 before closing out conference road play at Washington and Lee on April 18.

The matchup with the Generals begins a three-game road stretch to close the regular season, including the Hornets' final non-conference contest at Warren Wilson on April 21, before wrapping up the schedule with an ODAC showdown at Randolph on April 22.

Lynchburg enters the 2026 season after posting 13 wins in 2025 and earning an appearance in the ODAC quarterfinals. The Hornets return four of their five All-ODAC selections from a season ago, including VaSID All-State honorees Sydney Dumas and Neely Morris.
