Swannona, N.C. -- The Hornets men's volleyball squad picked up their first true road win this season, taking down Warren Wilson 3-0.
Mason Kenna led the attack with nine kills on the night. Bryce Jackson tallied eight kills to go along with a team-high three blocks. Nick Redding finished with seven kills to accompany his five aces. Noah Wolff added two aces and led the team with 20 assists.
In the opening frame, Lynchburg jumped out in front of the Owls, taking a 5-1 lead. The Hornets continued to dominate in the first set and held onto the lead for the remainder of the frame. Lynchburg took the first, 25-14.
In the second set, Warren Wilson was able to respond. The Owls claimed their first lead of the night towards the midway point, 10-8. However, Lynchburg would quickly respond and retake the lead en route to a 25-17 victory.
The Hornets then opened up the third set with a 5-0 lead, which included back-to-back aces from Wolff. The Owls were able to cut the defecate back down to just two, but the Hornets then responded with a 14-2 run to seal the win, 25-12.
Lynchburg continues its road stint with a trip to Harrisonburg, Va. this Saturday, Feb. 8, as they take on EMU.
