Lynchburg Va. -- The Lynchburg men's volleyball unit fell in a three-set affair to the ODAC's top team, Randolph-Macon.
Nick Redding led the team with seven kills on the evening, along with two blocks on the defensive end.
Mason Kenna and
Jeremiah Costello contributed four and five kills respectively.
Stefan Kapitanov finished with a game-high three blocks for the Hornets.Â
Lynchburg and Randolph-Macon came out evenly matched in the opening set. However, towards the midway mark of the first frame, the Yellow Jackets found their groove and went on a 6-0 to create separation and ultimately pull away. Randolph-Macon went on to clinch the first frame 25-18.
In the second set, Lynchburg quickly found themselves with a 9-4 deficit. Nevertheless, Lynchburg battled back to keep the contest competitive. However, a 7-1 run by the Yellow Jackets would once again create too much separation for the Hornets to overcome. Randolph-Macon would claim the second set 25-16.Â
The Yellow Jackets closed out the contest in the third set, jumping out on top of Lynchburg 12-4 to begin the final period. Both sides recorded their lowest attacking percentage of the night in the third set, the Hornets finished with - .05%. The Yellow Jackets concluded the affair with a 25-17 win.Â
The Hornets remain in town for their final home game of the 2025 campaign, taking on Virginia Wesleyan this Saturday, March 15, at 1:30 p.m.
