Lynchburg Lands Four On CSC Academic All-District Men's And Women's Basketball Teams

Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's and women's basketball programs had four student-athletes tabbed as 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team members.

Two student-athletes from each program were appointed with the honors. On the women's side, Bree Spainhour and Macey Mullins were the two honorees. From the men's team, Piercen Young and Jonathan Foust were each named.

To be selected to the CSC Academic All-District teams, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5-or-above. They also must have competed in 90 percent of the program's games played or have started in at least two-thirds of the institution's games.

Spainhour jumped into basketball season right after concluding the 2024 volleyball campaign and started 21 games that she participated in. The junior finished the year with the second-highest point average on the team, scoring 11.0 points per game. She also led the squad in blocks and rebounds with 27 swats and 6.5 boards per affair.

Mullins averaged 11.0 minutes per game this season and took part in 22 of the team's 24 games this season, starting in four. She ran point while on the court and finished the season with 21 assists and 17 steals.

Young was a key piece for the Hornets this year, starting all 24 games that he was available for. He finished the season second on the team in points average with 11.3 per affair. He earned one defensive and one offensive ODAC Athlete of the Week honors throughout the season. His offensive accolade came after he hit the game-winning shot against Shenandoah.

Foust was also a significant contributor for Lynchburg this season, playing in all 27 games and starting in 21. He was a force on the defensive side, totaling 22 steals and nine blocks while grabbing 4.7 rebounds per game.
