Amherst, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's tennis team fell to Shenandoah 0-7 Friday evening.
The Hornets dropped all three doubles matches. Freshman Luca Morbioli and junior Jorge Patricio Zepeda fell 1-6 at the top fight. Junior Alex Rintoul and sophomore Sebastian Soria fell 4-6 on court two. Timothee Depaquit and Sebastian Sierra dropped their match at the bottom court 4-6.
On the top singles court, Morioli lost 6-3, 2-6, 7-10. Sierra fell 1-6, 2-6. Rintoul was breadsticked in both sets. Depaquit fell 4-6, 2-6. Zepeda, playing at the penultimate court, bageled his opponent in the first set, but dropped the next two 2-6, 3-6. Junior Dan Hardy fell 6-7 (3-7 tiebreak), 3-6 on the bottom court.
Lynchburg moves to 8-5 on the season, and 3-5 in conference play. They will face Hampden-Sydney on Saturday, Apr. 19 at 11 a.m. for their final match of the season.
