Bridgewater, Va. -- The Hornets women's lacrosse team tabbed their fourth consecutive win, taking down Bridgewater 14-10.
Neely Morris and
Mya Hausauer led the squad in the scoring column, each finishing with three goals. Morris also notched two assists in the affair.
The Eagles opened up the contest on a strong note, winning the first quarter, 4-2.
However, Lynchburg responded in the second frame, going on a 4-0 run towards the end of the period to take a 7-6 lead into the locker room.
The Hornets picked up right where they left off coming out of the break, controlling the pace of play and out-scoring the Eagles 4-1.
Lynchburg seized momentum in the second half through draw controls and forcing Bridgwater turnovers. In the final 30 minutes, Lynchburg won eight of the 10 draws.
While the Eagles were able to momentarily cut into the Lynchburg deficit in the fourth, Lynchburg refused to budge and left town with a 14-10 win.
The Hornets now improve to 10-3 on the season and 4-2 in ODAC play, with the Averett Cougars on deck for their next match at home.
