LYNCHBURG, Va. --- University of Lynchburg women's lacrosse has added former Hornet standout Neely Morris to its coaching staff as a graduate assistant ahead of the 2027 season.
Morris joins the staff following a four-year playing career with Lynchburg in which she developed into one of the program's top midfielders. The Kitty Hawk, N.C., native finished her career with 122 goals and 54 assists for 176 points while adding 190 draw controls.
During her senior season in 2026, Morris started all 16 games in which she appeared and led the Hornets with 21 assists while scoring 24 goals for 45 points. She also collected 23 ground balls, caused 16 turnovers and recorded 46 draw controls. Her performance earned her First Team All-ODAC, VaSID First Team All-State and Second Team All-Region honors.
Morris earned All-ODAC recognition in each of her final three seasons, receiving second-team honors in 2024 before earning back-to-back first-team selections in 2025 and 2026. Her junior campaign included career highs of 47 goals, 22 assists and 69 points, while she finished her career with 11 games of at least three goals during her final two seasons.
Along with her success on the field, Morris earned recognition for her work in the classroom. The criminology/criminal forensics major was named to the 2025-26 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll and earned ODAC All-Academic honors.
