Lynchburg, Va. — The University of Lynchburg softball team was well represented on this year's All-ODAC team, earning one first-team selection, as well as two second-team and two third-team honors.
Junior infielder Sarah Watts headlined the Hornets' selections as the team's lone representative on the All-ODAC First Team. Watts earned her second consecutive first-team nod after finishing the season with a .333 batting average, recording 43 hits and a team-leading 18 extra-base hits.
Senior pitcher Kailey Dorcsis and senior catcher Carly Hudnall were named to the All-ODAC Second Team. Dorcsis picked up her second straight All-ODAC honor after ranking fifth in the conference in ERA (1.45), sixth in opponent batting average (.222), and third in strikeouts (119). Hudnall earned her third All-ODAC recognition, batting .320 on the season while striking out just twice—the fewest on the team.
Fifth-year pitcher Emily Charlton and fifth-year outfielder Lexi Powell received All-ODAC Third Team honors. Charlton wrapped up her season with the fifth-fewest earned runs allowed in the conference (23) and tallied 61 strikeouts with just 16 walks, earning her fourth career All-Conference selection. Powell led the team in at-bats, hits, and batting average, finishing with a .374 mark and 52 hits—fourth-most in the ODAC this season.Â
