Ponce, Puerto Rico -- University of Lynchburg men's soccer alum Manzi Shalita has officially launched his professional career, signing with Ponce FC.

The Puerto Rican fútbol club adds Shalita to its roster following a standout career with the Hornets. During his time in the Hill City, Shalita earned five All-ODAC, one All-State, and two All-Region selections. In his final season, he recorded a career-high 18 goals and seven goals, including an impressive six-game stretch late in the year where he found the net five times.

"I'm really excited to have signed my first pro contract with Ponce FC in Puerto Rico. Ever since I left Lynchburg, I've been pursuing an opportunity to take my soccer career to the next level. I started my MBA in the fall of 2024, and the fully online program has allowed me to chase my dreams while I get my degree. With only about a month left in my program, I'm excited to finalize my studies and continue to strive for high-level, professional soccer experiences. Wherever my journey takes me, I go with the values, experiences, and relationships Lynchburg gave to me." said Shalita

Ponce FC is entering its debut season, competing in Liga Puerto Rico under the direction of co-managers Lucas Medina and Ulises Clavell.
