Indianapolis, Ind. -- University of Lynchburg men's and women's swimmers
Henry Brooks and
Gracie Maughan competed in multiple events at the division III NCAA Championships this past week, producing solid results across the board at the Indiana University Natatorium.
Both student-athletes took part in the preliminary rounds of their respective events throughout the four-day championship. Brooks competed in the 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard backstroke, and 200-yard backstroke, while Maughan swam in the 200-yard IM, 100-yard breaststroke, and 200-yard breaststroke.
Brooks had his highest finish in the 100-yard breaststroke prelim, clocking in a time of 49-flat for 19th overall. In the 200-yard backstroke, he touched in 1:50.46 to place 29th of the field. He rounded out his NCAA performance with a time of 49.13 in the 100-yard butterfly.
Maughan produced her strongest showing in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.46 to place 35th in the preliminary round. She additionally earned times of 2:25.35 in the 200-yard breaststroke and 2:11.97 in the 200-yard IM to complete her showing on the national stage.
