Lexington, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg swimming teams combined for 638 points and a second-place finish at the 2026 ODAC Relays on Saturday at the Washington and Lee Natatorium.

The Lynchburg women highlighted the meet by winning the 200-yard freestyle relay. Sydney Weeks, Gracie Maughan, Eliza Fleenor and Sienna Schmeck completed the event in 1:39.55, finishing five-hundredths of a second ahead of Washington and Lee.

Weeks, Maughan and Schmeck also helped Lynchburg place second in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The trio joined Lilly Pifer to record a time of 3:43.64.

The Hornets earned another runner-up finish in the women's 200-yard medley relay. Ashlyn Zeier, Maughan, Weeks and Schmeck touched the wall in 1:51.23.

Lynchburg also produced strong results in the backstroke relays. Abigail Schneider, Fleenor and Zeier finished second in the women's 3x50-yard backstroke relay with a time of 1:24.09. Henry Brooks, Jonah Rees and Zach Hubbard placed third in the men's event in 1:12.28.

Maughan, Fleenor and Schneider added a second-place performance in the women's 3x50-yard breaststroke relay, finishing in 1:34.03.

On the men's side, Lynchburg placed two teams among the top three in the 100-yard underwater relay. JC Gordon, Rees, Andrew Fiore and Brooks earned second in 45.74, while Isaac Semones, Angel Figueroa, Andrew Neculai and Luke Gonzales followed in third with a time of 46.93.

Joao Czarnecki, Gordon, Adam Fisher and Brooks recorded another third-place result in the men's 400-yard freestyle relay, completing the race in 3:14.99. Jesse Eskelund, Fisher, Gordon and Brooks also placed third in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:27.74.

Lynchburg finished the competition with one victory, eight runner-up performances and five third-place results. Washington and Lee won the combined standings with 964 points.

The Hornets have about a month to prepare for their first dual meet of the season against Roanoke on Saturday, October 24 at noon at the Liberty University Natatorium.
