LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg mens and women's basketball programs had six student-athletes tabbed as 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team members.
Three student-athletes from each respective program were appointed with the honors. On the women's side,
Taylor Brown,
Bree Spainhour, and
Madison Hoffman were the three honorees. From the men's team,
Piercen Young,
Jesse Mitchell, and
Jayson Easton received the recognition.
Young and Spainhour earn an Academic All-District nod for the second consecutive year, as they were two of the four Hornet's selected a year ago.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be selected to the CSC Academic All-District teams, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5-or-above. They also must have competed in 90 percent of the program's games played or have started in at least two-thirds of the institution's games.
