Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg beach volleyball team rounded out the weekend with a 3-2 victory against Southern Virginia on Saturday at Liberty University.
The Hornets finished their three-match stint at Liberty with two wins over Lancaster Bible and Southern Virginia. The top three spots earned victories against SVU. Leading the way was
Kailey Keough and
Amanda Trapp in the one spot, stamping an emphatic 21-13 triumph.Â
Mady Shirey and
SJ Yanz followed with a hard-fought 21-14, 15-21, 15-11 win in the two spot.
Noelle Slye and
Parker Lynch teamed up in the three spot for a 21-14, 21-18 win to help secure the team victory.
Alexis Scipione and
Jamie Smith fell in the four spot, 21-15, 21-23, 15-8, and
Cara Taylor and
Lydia Nelson rounded out the Lynchburg performance dropping against the Knights, 21-10, 23-21.
Lynchburg will return to action against Regent and Carson-Newman on Friday, March 13 in Jefferson City, Tenn.Â
