FOREST, Va. -- University of Lynchburg second baseman Benton Jones has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Jones and the Hornets competed in four games over the past week, posting a 2-1-1 record during the stretch.

In a 15-4 victory over Greensboro, Jones delivered a standout 4-for-5 performance that included two home runs, four runs scored, and six RBIs. After a quieter outing in an 8-3 loss to Maryville on the road, Jones bounced back in Lynchburg's ODAC home doubleheader against Washington and Lee.

The Hornets opened the conference twin bill with a 10-6 win over the Generals, with Jones going 1-for-2 at the plate while drawing three walks to reach base four times and score three runs.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Jones continued his strong offensive showing. The senior began the contest with a two-run home run to left-center field in the bottom of the first inning. After collecting two additional hits during the game, Jones capped his week with his fourth home run in the eighth inning.

The Durham, North Carolina native finished the final game of the week with a 4-for-6 performance and two runs scored and three RBIs.

The award marks the third ODAC weekly honor of Jones' Lynchburg career, after previously earning the recognition during his freshman and junior seasons. It also represents the third weekly award for Lynchburg during the 2026 campaign.

The Hornets return to action this week with a pair of non-conference home matchups before traveling to Eastern Mennonite for an ODAC doubleheader over the weekend.
