Forest, Va. -- Following impressive results this past weekend, University of Lynchburg track and field performers
Alex Jordan and
Lamont Victoria were named as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Jordan traveled across the country this week to Azusa, Calif. to run the 5,000-meter race at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The sophomore solidified a personal best at Azusa with a 14:07.19 to finish 14th in his respective section. That mark registers as the third-fastest time in Lynchburg history and makes him the third Hornet to clock a time under 14:10 in the event.
Victoria competed in high jump at the Virginia Challenge this past week, hosted University of Virginia. The Richmond, Va. native cleared 2.11-meters (6'11") to place second in the event and first of division III competitors. In each the last three competitions that Victoria has participated in the high jump, he has secured a mark of 2.11m or higher.
The Hornets continue to prepare for a trip to Harrisonburg, Va. on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25 to compete at the 2026 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Eastern Mennonite.
