Lexington, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis team finished their strong season with a 4-0 loss to Washington and Lee in the ODAC semifinal round on Saturday afternoon.
The Hornets finished their 2025-26 campaign with an 11-6 overall record and the most wins for the program since the 2021-22 season. As a team, Lynchburg finished the year with 52 total singles victories and 30 doubles triumphs.
In today's playoff match, doubles play opened the contest, and Washington and Lee secured the point by winnig all three matches.
Isadora Lima and
Kayla Kosiorek fell 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, while
Ashley Hair and
Giovana Gaboardi were defeated 6-0 at No. 2.
Megan Tinsley and
Maggie Wonderling also dropped a 6-0 decision at No. 3.Â
In singles, Washington and Lee clinched the match with three completed victories.
Isadora Lima was defeated 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and
Ashley Hair fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4.
Megan Tinsley was also defeated 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 as the match reached the decision point.
Three singles matches were left unfinished. At No. 2,
Kayla Kosiorek trailed after the opening sets before play was halted.
Giovana Gaboardi's match at No. 3 was also stopped before completion, and
Harper Dodd was in progress at No. 6 when the match concluded.
With Washington and Lee claiming the doubles point and three singles matches, the contest ended at 4-0. Lynchburg competed across the lineup, with multiple singles matches still in progress at the time the team result was decided.
