Fredericksburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis team competed well in both singles and doubles at the ITA Division III Southeast Regional Championship, hosted by the University of Mary Washington.

In the Blue doubles flight, Isabela Florez and Marina Foureaux won all three of their posted matches. The pair opened with an 8-4 victory over Zoe Wilson and Sarah Levit of St. Mary's College of Maryland, then defeated Mary Washington's Olivia Geoghegan and Emily Tharpe 8-6. Florez and Foureaux followed with an 8-4 win over Sophia Dadley and Scarlett Gamez.

Giovana Gaboardi and Isabella Ascensio Jaramillo also earned a Blue doubles victory, shutting out Gettysburg's Eden Levkov and Claire Carroccio 8-0. Their run ended with an 8-1 loss to Lexi Hackbirth and Zoe Vliegen.

In championship doubles, Isadora Lima and Kayla Kosiorek fell 8-6 to Roanoke's Lydia Pratt and Isabella Gustafson. After advancing through a consolation bye, the Lynchburg pair lost 8-3 to Haverford's Adelaide Kreutel and Isabella Paradisi.

Kosiorek picked up a singles win in the Blue 3 flight, defeating Mary Washington's Olivia Geoghegan 6-4, 6-1. She then fell 8-3 to Virginia Wesleyan's Jette Hafermann. Lima earned Lynchburg's other posted singles victory, beating Roanoke's Isabella Gustafson 8-4 in the Blue 2 West stage. She had earlier lost to Mary Washington's Naomi Feltman 6-2, 6-3, and her next match ended in an injury walkover.

Gaboardi competed in championship singles, falling to Christopher Newport's Kylie Schaefer and Haverford's Adelaide Kreutel. Ascensio Jaramillo played in the Blue 3 flight, where she fell to Catholic's Cristina Moreira and Gettysburg's Lindsay Paullin.

The Hornets' next competition will be a tournament hosted by Sweet Briar in Sweet Briar, Va. on Saturday, October 3.
