La Crosse, Wis. – Kacey Kelly and Chasen Hunt capped day three of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with All-American finishes to conclude the 2026 outdoor campaign, while the men's team landed 13th in the team standings with 15.5 points.
The Hornets ended the weekend with five All-American first team results, headlined by Alex Jordan's 29:19.10 performance in the men's 10,000-meter run to set a 17-second Old Dominion Athletic Conference record.Â
Women's Triple Jump
Kacey Kelly collected her third All-American first team honor with a 39' 10¾" (12.16m) leap to place seventh in the competition. Kelly posted the mark in her third attempt of the competition, guaranteeing an additional three tries in the final round.
The senior's result is her second best of the season, while she won the ODAC Championships with a season-best 40' 2" (12.24m) bound.
Men's 5,000-Meter Run
Chasen Hunt corralled a ninth All-American honor in the men's 5,000m with a 14:37.80 performance for 14th. Despite finishing as a second team All-American, Hunt occupied second place throughout the first 3,000 meters.
The Lynchburg native caps his storybook career with national titles in the 2024 men's indoor distance medley relay and 2025 men's outdoor 5,000m run. He secured 13 ODAC titles, broke the Division III outdoor 5,000m record (13:41.96) and entered the Lynchburg Sports Hall of Fame in 2025.
Alex Jordan also participated in the race after doubling back from Thursday night's 10,000m All-American performance. Jordan posted 14:41.28 for 17th place and accelerated to the finish line with a 62-second final lap.
Men's Triple Jump
Demetri Hinton made his first NCAA Championships appearance in the men's triple jump, placing 20th with a 46' 3½" (14.11) leap. Hinton qualified for NCAAs at the Mount Olive First Chance Meet after registering a 48' 3¼" (14.71m) mark.
Hinton will return for his junior season as the reigning ODAC indoor triple jump champion.
