Wilson & Victoria Win USTFCCCA Regional Yearly Awards

Lamont Victoria Named South Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year; Coach Wilson Tabbed South Region Men's Track & Field Coach of the Year

New Orleans, La. -- It was announced on Thursday by the USTFCCCA that University of Lynchburg track and field team had Lamont Victoria and Coach Mario Wilson selected as the South Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year and Men's Track & Field Coach of the Year, respectively.

Victoria earns the South Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year award following a spectacular season on the oval. The senior finished the NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships with Second Team All-America honors in the 100 meter race. Victoria was named the ODAC Track Athlete of the Year after claiming both the 100 meter and 200 meter conference titles, and taking part in the 4x100 meter winning relay.

Coach Wilson is selected as the South Region Men's Coach of the Year after guiding the Hornets to an ODAC Outdoor Championship and having six student-athletes on the men's team qualify for the 2026 NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships. Five Lynchburg performers on the men's squad earned All-America recognition at the national championships this season.
