GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The University of Lynchburg men's golf team finished tied for 11th at the Gate City Invitational, wrapping up the 54-hole tournament Tuesday at Forest Oaks Country Club.

The Hornets posted rounds of 297, 295 and 303 to finish the tournament at 31-over 895. Lynchburg matched Guilford on the final leaderboard and finished one stroke ahead of Berry.

Dylan Olinger led the Hornets individually, finishing tied for 25th at 4-over 220. After rounds of 73 and 76 to begin the tournament, Olinger closed with his best round of the event, carding a 1-under 71 in the final round.

Bryce Jones and Cooper Mizelle finished one stroke behind Olinger, tying for 27th at 5-over 221. Jones recorded Lynchburg's lowest round Monday with a 1-under 71 in the second round after opening with a 75. Mizelle provided a steady start for the Hornets with an even-par 72 in each of the first two rounds before finishing with a 77.

Dylan Johnson finished at 20-over 236 after rounds of 77, 76 and 83, while Winston Thomas posted rounds of 77, 81 and 80 to finish at 22-over 238.

Ben Chamberlin competed as an individual and finished at 23-over 239, carding rounds of 82, 77 and 80.

Huntingdon captured the team title at 9-under, followed by Kenyon at 5-under and Shenandoah at 2-under.

The Hornets continue their fall slate in Ligonier, Pa. for the The Tartan Invitational, starting on Oct. 12.
