Hornet Men Win Third Straight Game at Averett 63-58

            DANVILLE, VA - The Lynchburg College men's basketball team posted its third-straight victory Monday evening with a 63-58 victory at Averett University.

            Junior forward Nathan Campbell (Cary, NC/Cary) led the Hornets with 18 points and 11 rebounds, hitting nine of 16 shots from the field. Junior guard Tucker Lucas (Herndon, VA/Herndon) hit five three pointers and also scored 18 points, and added six assists and four steals. Robby Kaiser (East Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) hit three three-pointers, Brandon Connor (Chesterfield, VA/Benedictine) scored seven points and five steals while Michael Wims (Standardsville, VA/William Monroe) also scored seven points with three rebounds and three assists.

            Kenny Hart scored a game-high 20 points with a team-best eight rebounds for the Cougars (1-6). The Hornet defense forced 23 Averett turnovers.  

            The Hornets (3-2) open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Emory & Henry College.
