LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's tennis team defeated Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Randolph-Macon College 7-2 on Tuesday.
Sophomore Derrick Kegerreis (Fairfax, VA/Chantilly) won 6-1, 6-1 at #2 singles while junior Jim Rochow (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) won at #3 singles by the same score – and the two teamed up to win at #1 doubles 8-3. Senior Brian Nelson (Charlotte, NC/Home school) won 6-3, 6-3 at #4 singles. Sophomore Cody Crampton (Chester, VA/Thomas Dale) had a 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory at #5 singles as well as an 8-5 win at #2 doubles with senior Brandon Brown (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage). Senior Raine Sydnor (Norfolk, VA/Maury) had a 1-6, 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 win at #6 singles.
The Hornet men's team (1-0/1-0 ODAC) will be back in action again this Thursday at 3:30 p.m. where they will face ODAC foe Washington and Lee at Lynchburg College.
