LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's tennis team faced off against fellow Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) squad Randolph College on Wednesday and won 9-0.
Sophomore Derek Kegerreis (Fairfax, VA/Chantilly) and junior Jim Rochow (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) won 8-0 at #1 doubles. Kegerreis also won 6-1, 6-3 at #2 singles, while Rochow took #3 singles 6-0, 6-1. Senior Brandon Brown (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) teamed with sophomore Cody Crampton (Chester, VA/Thomas Dale) to win at #2 doubles 8-3. Brown also won at #1 singles 6-4, 6-1 and Crampton won 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5) at #5 singles. Seniors Brian Nelson (Charlotte, NC/Home school) and Raine Sydnor (Norfolk, VA/Maury) won 8-2 at #3 doubles. Nelson had a 7-5, 6-2 win at #4 singles, while Sydnor had a 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 win at #6 singles.
The Hornets (3-1/2-1 ODAC) will be back in action at home on Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m. where they will face off against non-conference opponent Piedmont.
