Hornet Men Swing Past Ferrum College
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's tennis team played at home against Ferrum College on Monday and won the match 8-1.
Senior Brandon Brown (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) and sophomore Cody Crampton (Chester, VA/Thomas Dale) teamed up to win 8-4 at #2 doubles, while Brown had a 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 win at #1 singles and Crampton had a 6-1, 6-1 win at #5 singles. Seniors Brian Nelson (Charlotte, NC/Home school) and Raine Sydnor (Norfolk, VA/Maury) teamed up and won at #3 doubles 8-1. Nelson had a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4) win at #4 singles and Sydnor had a 6-3, 6-3 win at #6 singles. Sophomore Derek Kegerreis (Fairfax, VA/Chantilly) had a 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 victory at #2 singles, while junior Jim Rochow (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) won 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 at #3 singles.
The LC men (4-3/2-1 ODAC) will be back in action at home on Friday at 3:30 p.m. where they will face Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Roanoke College.
