Buckingham Scores Five Goals as LC Women's LAX Breeze by Guilford 17-3

GREENSBORO, NC - Junior Lesley Buckingham (Herndon, VA/Herndon) scored a team-high five goals as the Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team defeated Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Guilford College 17-3 on Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets outscored the Quakers 12-1 in the first half and put five more on the board in the second half putting the game out of reach. Two of Buckingham's goals came in the first half, adding three more in the second. She also added two assists in the first half.

Kendall Adkin (New Milford, CT/New Milford) tallied three goals, while Julie Will (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright) and Morgan Logue (Barrington IL, Barrington) each scored two goals. Patty Sheahan (Lutherville, MD/St. Timothy's), Kelsey Johnson (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright), Bri Slate (Charlottesville, VA/Monticello), Carley Dobson (Salisbury, MD/Salisbury), and Caroline Kilby (Street, MD/John Carroll School) each scored one goal for the Hornets.

The LC defense only allowed three goals and 14 shots on the afternoon and forced 22 turnovers for Guilford (3-9/2-3 ODAC).

The Hornet women (9-3/5-0 ODAC) will be back in action on Wednesday, April 13 when they will travel to face ODAC opponent Randolph-Macon at 4 p.m.
